POSITIONS AVAILABLE

We are always looking for talented young minds to join us. Currently, we have positions available for Postdoc fellows, Research Assistants, and Ph.D. students. We also invite undergraduate students to participate in our research. If you are interested, please send C.V. and a brief statement of previous contributions to science to cgzheng@hku.hk

Postdoc Fellow Position - Neurobiology
We are seeking a postdoc fellow to work on the molecular mechanisms of neuronal development and neural circuit assembly. Potential projects include the mechanisms of cell fate specification, transdifferentiation, and the formation of electrical synapses (gap junctions) in C. elegans. Experience of working with C. elegans is desired, although not required. Demonstrated ability to publish first-author papers in serious journals is important.

Research Assistant - Gene editing in mammalian models
We are seeking a talented RA to help develop new methods of DNA/RNA editing in mammalian cells and mouse models of neurodegenerative diseases.

Ph.D. students - Multiple fields
We are seeking highly motivated PhD students to work in three potential fields, including 1) neuronal development, 2) neurodegeneration, and 3) evolutionary genomics. Applicants should have good academic background (e.g., GPA), substantial undergraduate research experience, and a strong interest in basic biology research. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for the HKPF and HKU-PS scholarships, which provide very generous stipend packages (apply through websites that are separate from the HKU graduate school application portal). The deadline for application is Dec. 1 every year. Applicants are encouraged to contact
cgzheng@hku.hk in early fall.
